RainPoint Rain Sensor
The RainPoint rain sensor is a practical solution for automatic irrigation systems. It works based on a rainfall detection mechanism and automatically stops watering when it detects more than 3 mm of rainfall. This saves water, prevents overwatering, and ensures the system only operates when needed. The product is compatible with most controllers with solenoid valves and fits standard garden installations.
Effective action based on rainfall
The sensor maintains a closed circuit until it detects a certain rainfall level. When more than 3mm of rain hits the sensor surface, the water-absorbing plate expands, immediately breaking the circuit and stopping watering. Once the sensor dries, the circuit closes again and the system returns to normal operation. The entire process takes 2 to 5 minutes, ensuring a quick response to changing weather conditions.
Easy installation for irrigation controllers
Connecting the RainPoint sensor is intuitive – simply connect one wire to port C (common) and the other to port R (sensor) on the controller. Compatible with most solenoid valve models, there's no need for additional adapters or wiring modifications.
Adjustable drying time
The sensor is equipped with a ventilation ring that allows you to adjust the time it takes to turn the system back on after rainfall. Wider opening of the vents speeds up the drying process, which can be useful in sunny and windy locations. Under standard conditions, the sensor returns to operation after approximately 4 hours, and it takes up to 3 days to dry completely.
Quick test without water
The test function doesn't require contact with water. Simply press the protruding element on the top of the housing – if the connection is correct, the solenoid valve will make a characteristic "click" and watering will stop. This is a quick way to verify correct installation.
