Shelly Flood Gen4 is a flood sensor that detects water the moment it appears – under the dishwasher, washing machine, water heater, or in the basement. Thanks to its wide-range detection cable, built-in audible alarm, and instant notifications, it helps prevent costly damage, and its compatibility with platforms like Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Home Assistant makes it easy to integrate into your existing smart home system. Flood Detection and Rain Detection modes

The device offers two operating modes, allowing you to easily adapt it to your specific application. Flood Detection is designed for critical areas – as soon as the sensor detects water in the pipe, it immediately triggers an alarm, which is useful under a washing machine, dishwasher, water heater, or in the basement. Rain Detection is more subtle: it registers rising surface moisture levels but does not trigger an alarm, which is useful, for example, on patios or under awnings. In this mode, the device responds to the first signs of rainfall, helping to protect outdoor equipment and furnishings.

Precision detection cable for small and large spaces

The 2-meter flood detection cable provides a much greater range than a standard point sensor. It allows monitoring of hard-to-reach areas, and its linear design is particularly well-suited to long pipe runs, built-in furniture, or extensive utility rooms. If necessary, you can connect additional sections, achieving a total length of up to 150 meters, allowing you to protect large areas or several points simultaneously.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and Matter connectivity

Three alarm styles for different work scenarios

Shelly Flood Gen4 has a built-in audible alarm that emits a long beep when flooding is detected and short beeps when the battery is low. The sensor also offers three alarm modes, allowing you to tailor the leak notification to your installation location. Intense provides a quick and clear alert, Normal is suitable for everyday use, and Economic reduces energy consumption, which is especially useful in summer houses, garages, or other infrequently used properties.

Battery-powered and easy to install

The device is powered by four 1.5V AA batteries, which are included in the kit. It requires no wiring and can be placed where there's no access to a power outlet—for example, under kitchen cabinets, in cabinets, near pipes, or in utility rooms. Additionally, the device has an IP44 rating, meaning it's resistant to moisture and splashes. This makes the sensor suitable not only for indoor use but also for semi-outdoor use, such as patios or under a canopy. Note: Do not expose the device directly to rain—the main module should be covered, with only the detection wire exposed.

Local automation and cooperation with external devices

The Gen4 Flood Sensor supports local operating scenarios, enabling features such as automatic shutdown of devices when water is detected. Integration with additional Shelly modules and third-party equipment allows for the creation of functional security solutions tailored to a given room or system.
