You no longer have to worry about keeping your subject centered in the shot – the DJI RS 5 works with an intelligent tracking module (sold separately) to take care of that for you. Simply point a target on the gimbal's touchscreen, and the system will automatically focus on tracking it smoothly throughout the entire recording. Whether you're filming people, animals, or vehicles, this solution is suitable for a wide range of scenarios. Furthermore, the module offers a range of up to 10 meters for people, and if the subject briefly disappears from the frame, the auto-resume tracking function allows you to quickly resume tracking without interruption.

The DJI RS 5 gimbal is surprisingly lightweight – the entire unit, including the quick-release plates and battery holder, weighs only about 1.46 kg. This means even long recording sessions won't strain your hands. Despite its lightweight design, the device boasts an impressive payload capacity of up to 3 kg. That's enough to easily handle mirrorless cameras from well-known brands, paired with lenses.

Shoot longer, load shorter

Planning a longer shoot? The DJI RS 5 is ready for it. The standard battery offers up to 14 hours of standby time, allowing you to focus on filming. An additional benefit is the quick-charge function – a full charge takes about an hour, significantly reducing downtime on set. For those who need even more performance, the BG70 battery grip (sold separately) is available, which increases standby time to approximately 30 hours.

Controlled on Your Terms

The DJI RS 5 takes ease of use to the next level. Expanded wireless Bluetooth control capabilities now extend beyond Sony, Canon, and Nikon cameras to Fujifilm and Panasonic devices. This allows you to control the shutter, zoom, and Clear Image Zoom without the need for additional cables—everything is wireless, fast, and convenient. The gimbal also features a Z-axis indicator, which provides real-time feedback and allows you to fine-tune movements for maximum stability. The Electronic Briefcase Handle (not included) allows for convenient, one-handed control of the camera and stabilizer—all you need is a joystick and a few buttons to effortlessly capture shots from more creative perspectives.

Precise settings and instant readiness for action

The DJI RS 5 is designed to make balancing as easy as possible. Adjustment knobs located on each axis arm, combined with Teflon™ layers, enable quick and precise balancing using a lead screw mechanism – even with heavier rigs. Preparing the gimbal for operation or transport is a snap. Second-generation automatic axis locks lock the device when it is turned off or enters sleep mode, and instantly unlock it upon restart. This ensures the DJI RS 5 is always ready to capture when every second counts.

Vertical shots in seconds

Switching to vertical recording mode has never been so quick and intuitive. Simply loosen and press the knob on one side of the gimbal, remove the horizontal plate, rotate it 90 degrees, and reattach it – the whole process takes only moments. This solution perfectly meets the needs of creators creating content for social media, where the vertical format has become the standard.

Full freedom of configuration and control

The Arca-Swiss top plate and Manfrotto bottom plate allow you to quickly switch between gimbal and tripod—without having to rebalance. You can easily adapt your equipment to the current shooting scenario. The top plate also features an adjustable guide for secure camera mounting. The DJI RS 5 is also compatible with the DJI SDR Transmission system, which provides high-resolution live streaming, remote control, and more. By connecting two DJI Focus Pro Motors, you gain full control over zoom (using the joystick) and focus (using the dial). The gimbal also offers an RSA port, allowing integration with accessories like the Electronic Briefcase Handle and RS Tethered Control Handle. Furthermore, developers will appreciate support for the RS SDK protocol, enabling feature expansion based on individual needs.
