The Ugreen BT501 is a compact Bluetooth 5.3 audio adapter that lets you wirelessly stream audio from your PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, laptop, or iMac to your Bluetooth headphones or speaker. The device works in audio-only mode (no data transfer), and requires no drivers or additional software – simply plug it into a USB-C port and pair your headphones.

High sound quality and low latency with aptX

The adapter is equipped with a Qualcomm chipset supporting the APTX, APTX Adaptive, APTX HD, and SBC codecs. This allows for the transmission of 24-bit, highly dynamic audio with a stable, energy-efficient connection. aptX Adaptive technology with a Low Latency encoder reduces latency to under 100 ms, ensuring synchronization of image and sound during dynamic games. To fully utilize the adapter's capabilities, the headphones must also support the same Bluetooth codec. The current operating mode and standard in use are indicated by LEDs on the housing.

Compatibility

The BT501 works with devices equipped with a USB-C port, such as the PS5, Nintendo Switch, PCs, laptops, and iMac. It supports Windows and macOS, but is not compatible with Linux or the PS4 console. The adapter also does not work with the PS5 Portal, does not support AirPods Pro 2, and does not support simultaneous pairing with two devices. When using a PS5, select the UGREEN-BT501 as the audio output device in the console settings and disable automatic output device switching. This ensures proper operation and a stable connection.

Call mode and microphone support

By default, the adapter operates in audio mode with HFP (Bluetooth Calling) disabled. If you need call functionality, you can enable it by double-pressing the multi-function button. After restarting, the device automatically returns to the last used mode, making everyday use easier.
